The practical mini-course aims to help physical education teachers master the peculiarities of teaching one of the most popular modern sports.
Rugby is an Olympic contact team sport, the goal of which is to hit the opponent’s goal or to bring the ball into the opponent’s scoring zone. Unlike soccer, rugby allows you to touch the ball with your hands.
The founder of rugby is considered to be Webb Ellis, a student of a school in Rugby (England), who grabbed the ball with his hands during a football match and rushed into the opponent’s scoring area. At that time, there were several varieties of football, and the rules of the match allowed touching the ball with the hand, but it was not allowed to move with the ball. The first set of rugby rules was published by students of the Rugby School in 1845.
This course is designed to help physical education teachers master the necessary tools to help make rugby lessons at school useful, interesting, inclusive and effective.
